Davide Comite received the M.Sc. degree cum laude in Telecommunications Engineering in 2011 and the Ph.D. degree in Electromagnetics and Mathematical Models for Engineering in 2015, both from Sapienza University of Rome, Italy, where he is currently an Associate Professor.
His research lies at the intersection of electromagnetics, antennas, and Earth observation, with a focus on antenna theory and design, leaky-wave and millimeter-wave antennas, electromagnetic scattering, remote sensing, and microwave sensors. His work combines fundamental electromagnetic theory, numerical modeling, and engineering design, with applications ranging from advanced antenna systems to spaceborne Earth observation.
He is involved in several national and international research projects, including the FISA project ORSAN, as well as research activities supported by ESA and ASI. His research includes the development of innovative antenna concepts, electromagnetic models, and sensing techniques for observing the Earth's surface and atmosphere.
At Sapienza, he teaches Electromagnetic Field Theory, Antenna Theory, and Remote Sensing for Earth Observation within the Bachelor's degree in Telecommunication Engineering and the Master's degree in Space and Astronautical Engineering. His teaching is closely connected to his research, with the goal of showing students how electromagnetic waves and antennas can be turned into technologies for sensing, communication, and space applications.
He has authored more than 80 papers in international peer-reviewed journals and more than 100 conference papers, and has been a visiting scholar and researcher at several international institutions.
He is a Senior Member of IEEE and a Senior Member of URSI.
